The Winery and Tasting Room

The Winery and Tasting Room:

All the good rain we received pushed back the groundbreaking on the Winery and Tasting Room. You just can’t turn dirt when’s it’s mud. The dozers finally got underway in early April.

The Rarig construction team is forecasting completion of Sixmilebridge’s winery and tasting room by year’s end. In my opinion, the odds of that happening are about the same as the immigration issue being solved by 12/31 of this year. We will be happy if everything is finished and we could begin serving out of the tasting room in April of 2020.

The Sixmilebridge Winery and Tasting Room are located about a two minute drive from our house or a five minute walk. They front onto Peachy Canyon Road and are framed by a beautiful and dense tree-line that works it way up the hill. On the other side is the second vineyard, the Grace Vineyard, planted in 2018 (see in photo below). It is planted right next to the Winery and Tasting Room, offering wonderful views of the vineyard from the tasting room and its patio.

Here is a rendering of the winery and tasting room:

At the Sixmilebridge Tasting Room, we are putting more of the emphasis on seated tastings, though there will still be a tasting bar that allows for stand-up or seated tastings. We will have outdoor seating that can be utilized year round as we have planned for a part of it to be able to be enclosed when the weather is on the chillier side. There will also be a Reserve Tasting Room for those that want a more extended and private tastings.

It seems that winery and vineyard tours are making a comeback. We will be considering whether we offer these opportunities. If you have an opinion, we would love to hear from you. Just click on this link and tell us if you think this is something that we should make available to our visitors.

We will keep you updated with more “progress photos” of the Winery and Tasting Room in subsequent newsletters.
